Last June 21, John Lloyd Cruz or Lloydy as he is fondly called in showbusiness was awarded again Box Office King for a second time in a row. This is with regards to his successful movie A Very Special Love alongside Sarah Geronimo who also bagged the coveted Box Office Queen from the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarshop Foundation Inc.

He almost did not make it in the awards night that was held in RCBC Plaza in Makati because he was sick. He was so grateful for the viewing public for watching his movies for the past two years.

The only thorn in his blessings right now is the controversy that he was involved recently. He was lambasted by Annabelle Rama for dating her unica iha Ruffa Gutierrez. She reportedly said that he is too young for her daughter and she is so annoyed that Lloydy is sort of making Ruffa a kept woman since he was denying that he was involved with her.

Anyway, the rift was put into a closure since at this time of writing, all is well between Ms. Rama and Lloydy. He told everyone in a recent presscon that he and Ruffa are just friends and there is no any romantic entanglement between them.

We will see how this progress since both of them are in the United States right now for different reasons. Who knows they might celebrate their birthdays together as they have the same birthdate.
